Welcome to the Benalla Church Street Surgery Pty Ltd
We are a long-established, quintessential country town general practice. The practice is non bulk-billing, digitalised and AGPAL accredited. We are also a registered teaching practice with the RACGP, ACCRM, University of Melbourne, and the RACGP And ACCRM registrar training programs. We have been providing general practice and many other essential services to residents and visitors of Benalla for over fifty years. The practice is situated in a beautiful old Victorian building which has been extensively refurbished and equipped for rural general practice. All of our GP’s are vocationally registered and have a commitment to providing quality general practice and to continuing medical education. We have a range of other services available including diabetes education, counselling, immunisation clinics and chronic disease management. Benalla is a small rural town with a population of about 15 000, situated on Lake Benalla, home to the impressive Benalla Art Gallery, and known as the regional street art capital of Victoria. We are a two hour drive from Melbourne on the Hume Freeway, and close to the King Valley food and wine region and the Victorian snowfields. Benalla Health is our local 35 bed hospital, our GP’s are all credentialed Visiting Medical Officers and provide all medical cover for the hospital. There are no salaried hospital doctors and no specialists resident in the town. Specialists visit from other towns to provide specialist medical care during the week. All of our GP’s participate in the after hours Town Doctor roster.
Our Fees
Standard consultation fees
- Private patients – $105.45
- Health Care Concession – $77.25 (no gap)
- Full Pensioners – $69.25 (no gap)
- Scripts are charged at $18.00 and with concession card $15.00
- New patient Fee -$190 (Long Consultation)
Payment is required on the day of consultation. Our terms provide that in the event of an account remaining unpaid and being referred to a debt collection agency and/or law firm, all collection and legal demand costs will be added to the account.
After Hours:
There is always a doctor on duty to deal with urgent problems. To obtain after hours medical care please call BENALLA HEALTH on 03 5761 4222 or attend the Urgent Care Centre at Benalla Health. We operate on an appointment-only system. Appointments can be booked either by contacting the surgery by telephone, online or coming in in person. We offer a range of appointments to cater for all needs that are available during weekdays. Urgent cases will be seen on the day. We endeavour to ensure you see the doctor of your choice, but if they are unavailable we may request you see another doctor. CONTACT US USEFUL LINKS
